Saturday's inauguration of this exhibition was full of fascinating new meetings, generous people, wonderful Chablis wine and flat-out fun.

The show is displayed in the Chablis winery.

The exhibition is at L & C Poitout winery in Chablis until mid-September. Catherine Poitout welcomes visitors every Saturday and Sunday for wine-tasting and art-viewing.  Stop by lovely Chablis and savour!

Au cœur des dessins de Jeannine Cook

Jeannine Cook, artiste britannique américaine, spécialiste de dessins en pointe de métal, est la première artiste à exposer au nouveau chai de Louis et Catherine Poitout. Pour cette exposition, elle s'est inspirée des pierres fossilisées qu'elle ramasse au fil de ses balades dans le chablisien ou encore à Noyers. Jeannine Cook est réputée pour son expertise dans la technique de dessin avec des métaux. Elle explique qu'elle a découvert, par hasard, les pierres d'huîtres fossilisées lors d'un séjour à la Porte peinte, centre d'art résidence d'artiste de Noyers. Grâce à ses découvertes, elle a pu se pencher sur beaucoup d'aspects visuels du terroir et du vin de Chablis, et créer des dessins à la fois très réalistes et abstraits dans leur composition. Jeannine Cook est l'une des cent spécialistes de la pointe de métal dans le monde. On retrouve notamment ses dessins dans des collections permanentes du British Museum, au National Museum de Washington ou encore au Western Australian Perth en Australie.
