Happy reading, and let me know what you think.

Brittany Plein Air for Artist Gourmets Art and Gastronomy Workshop in Dinan, France, 3rd-12th May, 2010 - Alas, for health reasons, I have had to cancel this Workshop this year.
Recent and Forthcoming Exhibits:
"Transitions" is a virtual exhibit hosted by the prestigious Pen & Brush club in New York. Four of my silverpoint drawings, based on events in family members' histories, were juried into the show byBina Sarkar Ellias, founder and editor of International Gallerie Magazine. The exhibit is on the Web from June September 3, 2010.
"The Luster of Silver" has had a reprise from the Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science, Evansville, IN at the Ohio Valley Art League, Henderson, KY. The exhibit from the Evansville permanent collection of silverpoint drawings includes some of my drawings. Meanwhile, the Telfair Museum of Art has paired its magnificent new exhibition of "The Story of Silver in Savannah" with a selection of silverpoint drawings from its permanent collection in an exhibition entitled "Metalpoint". Again, a number of my silverpoint drawings are on exhibit.
"Sapelo Sojourns", at the Bob Owens Art Gallery, North Georgia College, Dalonega, Georgia, from January 7th to February 4th, 2010. I exhibited work that I did on Sapelo Island, Georgia, with my friend and fellow artist, Marjett Schille. We both produced a body of work as Artists in Residence on Sapelo, and are using this work to act as ambassadors for this marvellous barrier island. We were guests there of the Sapelo Island National Estuarine Research Reserve. At North Georgia College, we talked about our art at a reception for the students and public on January 14th and gave a master class in silverpoint and mixed media the following morning. Students have been working with Marjett and myself, studying the art we created. Laura Brown and Katie Underwood will be presenting a combination of their papers on my work at the University Honors Conference in March 2010.
"15th Annual Art-Tasting", my open studio/wine-tasting party, took place on Saturday, 5th December, 2009, 3 p.m.-8 p.m. It was another well-attended, joyous occasion. Good friends, wine and food, the beauty of the marshes edging Cedar Creek and my artwork all combined to celebrate this holiday season tradition. Many old friends brought new friends, the sunlight gilded the marshes and the tide ran full. It was a special evening.
"The Luster of Silver", a contemporary metalpoint show I helped curate and in which my work was included, was exhibited at the Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science, Evansville, IN, from June 28th-September 13th, 2009. The wonderfully hospitable opening reception took place on Saturday, June 27th, from 6-8 p.m. I was invited to speak during the reception, as was Koo Schadler, my wonderful co-curator and exhibit-preparer, herself a superb artist. A large number of the silverpoint artists included in the show were present that weekend, and we were made incredibly welcome by John Streetman, Director of the Museum, his staff and wonderful Board and supporters in the delightful city of Evansville. I hope that those of you in the Evansville vicinity were able to visit this exhibit, which was both unusual and very beautiful. You might want to check out the information which was published on June 15, 2009, in ArtDaily.org under the heading "Evansville Museum to present a Survey of Contemporary Silverpoints". An image of one of my drawings is featured: this drawing, Creighton Bones (after C. Pissarro), came about as a result of my finding a wonderful cow bone on Creighton Island, Georgia, near my home. I remembered that Camille Pissarro had done a tiny drawing of a cow, and it seemed the perfect way to pay homage to Pissarro.
Artist-in-Residence awards:
Sapelo Island National Estuarine Research Reserve, Georgia,19th-21st February, 2010. I was so privileged to be able to return to Sapelo with Marjett Schille for a golden weekend of plein air work. We are trying to create another large body of work to exhibit on behalf of SINERR and their marvellous work of protecting this important barrier island halfway down the coast of Georgia.
Henderson Cultural Center, New Milford, CT, June 13th-27th, 2010. I shall be working with my dear friend, artist Marjett Schille, to prepare a body of work in silverpoint entitled "Nature's Tapestry". I will be especially concentrating on doing drawings of the Center's flora, while Marjett will use painting and mixed media to depict the local fauna. As in past situations, we seek to benefit the Center and area by highlighting their environmental riches. (Alas, this Residency has had to be postponed due to the economy's downturn.)
Les Amis de la Grande Vigne, Dinan, Brittany, France - October 1st-30th, 2008. The month I spent creating art in the Dinan area was an extraordinary experience. The City of Dinan and the Association of Les Amis de la Grande Vigne oversee the museum and artist's atelier left by famed artist, Yvonne Jean-Haffen. Selected as Artist in Residence, I was able to spend time painting and drawing in the Rance River valley and along the dramatically lovely coast, all within easy distance of Dinan itself. The Rance river is one of the most beautiful areas I have ever visited, and the stay, with my husband, Rundle, was made more magical by the truly delightful people we met in Brittany. I created a large body of work, both watercolours and silverpoint drawings, and hope to exhibit them as a group in the near future.
